About
What do you feel when you look at your dog or your cat? I mean, when they haven’t just torn open the garbage or coughed up a hairball on your pillow.
What do you feel when they look at you?
Love, joy, excitement, devotion, happiness. Right?
Well, I take pictures of pets that evoke the same feelings. I capture everything about those shedding, slobbering, spazzy furballs that endears them to you in images you’ll want to hang on your wall, put into a picture book, and give to friends, family and random strangers walking down the street.
It should be no surprise, then, that I only take pictures of animals. Not weddings. Not bar mitzvahs. Not seniors. Not babies (well, not human ones!) That means I focus all my skills and energy on being a great pet photographer.
The way I do that is through an on-location documentary style. I photograph your cat or dog doing what they do every day of their lives. Going for a walk in the park? Attacking a catnip banana like it was a wildebeest on the Serengeti? Curling up in that favorite sleeping spot dreaming of Beggin’ Strips and belly rubs?
That’s what I’ll photograph. There’s no studio. No cowboy hats or miniature claw-footed porcelain tubs. Just me, a camera and an intimate connection with your pet.
In case you’re wondering, I’ve had the Dr. Doolittle thing going on with animals since my childhood. I like them. They like me. Heck, during the sewing section of 7th-grade home economics (yes, when I went to school we had to take that class) I even made a miniature stuffed animal version of a family friend’s Great Dane. It was cool. Trust me. And my wife decided I was okay to marry because her cat Judy (now ours) gave me the paws up, something she’d not done with any previous boyfriends.
On the photography front, I had an early start documenting the lives of my four-legged brothers and sisters on film, with a Kodak 110 camera. These days, thankfully, camera equipment has advanced, although it might be kind of interesting to do a session with the old 110. In any case, I’d love to provide you lasting images and memories of your furry family member. Get in touch and we’ll set up a fun and relaxed session.
